Whenever the Holy Spirit finds a spiritual vacuum, He will rush in to fill it. If the void is as large as all of Creation or as small as the human soul, the Holy Spirit will hasten to occupy it. The Holy Spirit is God, but even God cannot fill something that is already full. Whenever the human heart is full of sin and selfish nature, the Holy Spirit is excluded. When the human heart is sincerely hungry for God, the Spirit will fill it with the joy of salvation. The Spirit is like a gentle dove (Matt. 3:16). He will not fly and roost where He is not welcomed. If you, with an open and hungry heart, invite Him to come, you will be surprised how quickly He will manifest. Don’t be astonished if the sound of the passage is – Whoosh!
